Why this profession?

Even in school I was very interested in sciences. Thus, I decided to study „Molecular Life Science“ at the University of Lübeck. In my bachelor thesis I learned a lot of molecular biological lab work and analyzed the cellular localization of the orexin-typ-2 receptor. During my master studies I developed a great interest in cancer research. Therefore I have made a comparative protein expression analysis of sporadic and FAP (familial adenomatous polyposis) associated colorectal cancer in the course of my master thesis. In 2016 I joined the research group of Prof. Dr. Wollenberg to get my PhD. Since then I am working on the tumor biology of head and neck squamous cell carcinomas.

Why RTG Genes, Environment and Inflammation?

The RTG “Genes, Environment and Inflammation” gives a great opportunity to meet scientists with different projects and specializations. I hope I can get a good support for my personal and scientific progress. Furthermore I would like to get some feedback for my project from another point of view. I think in an interdisciplinary team we can all learn from each other and develop new insights and ideas.
