Why this profession?

While studying at medical university, I already thought of doing additional research work. My main motivation was the wish not only to use the data I was already familiar with, but also to produce and provide new information. When I started my PhD work at the Department of Dermatology, University of Lübeck, I realized that I would like to follow both lines, the scientific and the medical one.

Why RTG Genes, Environment and Inflammation?

One of my projects during my medical PhD was related to diet and autoimmunity. This project has a lot of interdisciplinary aspects, which usually cannot be ruled out just by one group. I really appreciate the opportunity to work in close collaboration with specialists from different research fields who can provide their expertise and share their ideas regarding the project. I would like to continue this fruitful collaboration by joining the RTG Genes, Environment and Inflammation.
