Consolidated Researcher Details:
After completion of my degree in veterinary medicine, I was employed in a horse practice, where I worked, among other things, in the field of reproductive medicine. I have learned a lot from the field and my goal is to complete my academic career with a doctoral thesis - to bring my knowledge from the clinic into science. Therefore, the project in the research group of Prof. Rupp fits very well to my former work area. I am now looking forward to expanding my knowledge in the field of immunology and microbiology, planning my own research project, and contributing to a better understanding of genital infections and the microenvironmental modulators of genital infections.
The Research Training Group "Genes, Environment and Inflammation" combines microbiology, genetics and biostatistics and provides an excellent opportunity to acquire scientifically relevant skills. It offers me the possibility to join translational research projects, collaborations with physicians, resulting in a wide variety of research topics. The interdisciplinary research areas provide a great opportunity, especially for me, as a young scientist, to interact with other professionals and build a network. In addition, I´m very pleased to attend a very well-organized educational program including regular RTG meetings and workshops which prepare us PhD students for our future careers.
