Why this profession?

Already in school i was very interested in natural sciences and medical/nutritional topics. Thus, I studied Nutritional Sciences in Kiel (Bachelor), Nutritional Medicine (Master) in Stuttgart and received my doctorate in 2017. The subject of my doctoral thesis was the in vivo evaluation of novel topical niacin nutriceuticals for improving gut microbiota and metabolic health. Since then, my main research interests are still focused on nutritional interventions for gut health, biomarkers for gut health and healthy nutrition as well as other (novel) therapeutic targets for obesity and its comorbidities.

Why RTG Genes, Environment and Inflammation?
