Consolidated Researcher Details:

Why this profession?
I started to study Molecular Life Science to connect two sciences: Medicine and (Molecular) Biology. I was always impressed by the complexity, diversity and possibilities of the human body. With the passion for details and my fascination for interactions and connectivity, I would like to learn and (as good as possible) understand molecular pathways and phenomena. I am particularly interested in the development and progression of different diseases, keeping the direct connection between scientific research and the clinic and therefore the patients. Additionally, I will put my efforts into the growing field of science communication in order to convey the interests, aims and background of science.
Why RTG Genes, Environment and Inflammation?
Within my project I am involved in a big consortium all over Europe, but the local association to the Research Training Group “Genes, Environment and Inflammation” is giving me even more opportunities. I think as a doctoral student it is important to pursue higher education after university and to expand one’s horizon under the supervision of experienced scientists. This doctoral program offers many meetings, seminars, soft skills courses and access to high-quality research within a broad range. Having a direct link with other doctoral students can provide not only the exchange of knowledge, information and protocols but also the opportunity to share academic and personal experiences.
