Why this profession?

While growing up, I was always fascinated with natural sciences, in nearly all their facets. I initially considered studying a pure natural science, however I simply could not decide on what I liked most! So I chose medicine, which not only integratively combines all parts of natural science, but also applies all this knowledge for the greater good of improving people’s health and wellbeing.

Why RTG Genes, Environment and Inflammation?

Apart from my interest in natural sciences, I have also had a large interest in computers and technology since childhood, and have developed many skills in this area. So when I was looking for a doctoral program, I specifically considered one where medicine and computer science interact, and have found the perfect match with bioinformatics research as part of the RTG 1743.
