Consolidated Researcher Details:
I started my research career at the School of Computational & Integrative Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, India. There, I explored genomic alterations in Mycobacterium tuberculosis and developed the MTCID database that comprehensively catalogues genetic polymorphism prevalent in the TB pathogen. Later, I worked on a transcriptome analysis of Chronic myelogenous leukaemia (CML) for accessing the regulatory roles of micro RNAs & the further discovery of cancer-associated novel micro RNAs. After my initial training in computational genomics and transcriptomics, my doctoral research focuses on identifying the pathological attributes of environment on gut microbiome resulting in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBDs).
The RTG Genes, Environment and Inflammation gives me an opportunity to contribute to an understanding of the complex pathological hallmarks of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBDs). The major area of trust would be on understanding the genetic basis of interactions between intestinal epithelial cells and their microbial milieu.
