Consolidated Researcher Details:
My interest in medicine, macroscopic and microscopic function of the human body and the human microbiome goes back to my schooldays, but since in 2012 I have started studying human medicine at the University of Lübeck. After having finished my pre-clinical studies, my horizon has widened to the scientific part of the medical field. To start an experimental doctoral thesis gives me the great opportunity to gain insight on research work and laboratory methods.
Getting a closer look on how to work on lab projects will give me the opportunity to think about the possibility of combining my medical profession with research work later in my career.
To be a member of a young, qualified and interdisciplinary team of scientists is a unique possibility for me as a medical student to broaden my skills regarding laboratory work. The ongoing exchange with other research groups working on similar research topics, including host-pathogen interactions, microbial communities and immunological signaling pathways enables all members of the RTGs to broaden their knowledge
