Why this profession?

After getting my master degree in biomedical sciences from NTU University, UK, I joined a medical genetics center in Qatar working mainly on the genetics aspects of autistic and epileptic children. Later I joined Qatar Biomedical Research Institute core facility where I operated high through output sequencing machines such as Miseq and Hiseq. These technologies are applicable throughout the spectrum of biological activity, and are as relevant to molecular biology as to population studies.

I decided to pursuit my studies and I joined The Lübeck Institute of Experimental Dermatology as a doctoral student in 2016 to work on psoriasis and autoinflammatory disease. Throughout my research we will try to improve the diagnosis of psoriatic patients applying different experiments.

Why RTG Genes, Environment and Inflammation?

The Research Training Group “Genes, Environment and Inflammation” offers research based on a highly interdisciplinary and technology-driven approach and involves scientists from many different countries. This will help me gain different experiences and learn new techniques that will widen my knowledge.
